A new story from me...

I entered a writing contest recently. This was the 2nd Annual Failing Writers' Podcast Short Story competition

There was a phrase also involved, each entry had to include a particular phrase you could only get by listening to the relevant episodes of the podcast.

The prize was quite enticing. Being sponsored by Scrivener, the prize was £300! Included was a copy of Scrivener, and two runners up also got a copy of Scrivener. The overall winner also got a professionally produced audio rendition of their tale.

And how much was the competition to enter?

It was free!

That was the amazing part about this. A free to enter contest and an absolutely brilliant prize.

At the time I am writing this blog post, the winner has been announced, (listen to the latest episode of their podcast for details) as have the two runners up. Congratulations to those three; their stories were all fantastic.

I didn't make the shortlist, and that is fine. I enjoyed the process.

The theme for the story was love. It didn't necessarily have to be a romance, just a story with a link to love. The phrase to include was "as soft as a kiss".

I used a story idea I'd started many years ago, but one I'd not done anything with. The main idea behind the story is connected to my own experience as a child when I was involved in a serious accident. It's a fictional story.

The story, Remember Me, has since been added to my Wattpad. You can find the story here:
